Into the Wild

We believe wilderness is for everyone. As one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Women, we’re proud to challenge the traditional, male-dominated status quo of the adventure travel industry.

Behind the scenes, half of our directors are female, alongside a strong team of women across leadership and management. We back our staff with a genuinely inclusive workplace culture, offering practical support like enhanced maternity leave, menopause awareness, and everyday essentials such as free period products in the office.

Out in the field, that same ethos applies. We have a growing team of expert female guides, and our itineraries are designed to create an encouraging, welcoming space to get out on the water or the trails. Whether it’s cycling, walking, or kayaking, the focus is on enjoying the outdoors without the pressure.

It’s why we welcome a high number of female travellers, many of whom join our trips solo. If you’re looking to explore Scotland’s wild places in a relaxed, supportive environment with like-minded women, we’d love to have you along.

“This trip fulfilled a desire to experience biking in a beautiful, remote, and tranquil area in a way which we could never have organized on our own. Our guides were excellent: caring, patient, knowledgeable, and tireless. Our accommodations were comfortable and we were well-fed. Overall, a wonderful trip!”

Women in the Wild

Women in the Wild: Alice

This episode features speciality guide Alice Goodridge: English Channel swimmer, founder of SwimWild and author of Swimming Wild in Scotland. She swims in very cold water without a wetsuit, simply for the way it makes her feel.

Women in the Wild: Ghillie

Ghillie Başan is an award-winning cook, food anthropologist and author of more than 50 books, living in a wild corner of the Cairngorms National Park. She runs Spirit & Spice, hosting Whisky Food Safaris that pair Scotch with wild, local ingredients cooked over an open fire or in her converted barn.

Women in the Wild: Elise

This episode features adventurer Elise Wortley, founder of Woman With Altitude. She retraces the journeys of pioneering female explorers using only period clothing and kit, including 17 days in the Cairngorms following in Nan Shepherd’s footsteps, wearing tweed, woollen tights and hobnail boots.

Women in the Wild: Jenny

This episode features Scottish endurance cyclist Jenny Graham, who in 2018 became the fastest woman to cycle around the world self-supported, covering 18,000 miles in 124 days. She has since written Coffee First, Then the World and presents adventure films for the Global Cycling Network.
