    After a lifetime in industry, I chose to retire at 52 and finally pursue the adventures I had always dreamed of. For the past 15 years, I’ve been guiding across the world, spending a great deal of time in Scotland—particularly in Shetland, Orkney, and the Hebrides.

    At home in the English Lake District, I find endless joy in walking the high fells with my cocker spaniel, immersing myself in the ever-changing landscape and the wildlife that surrounds me.

    I love Shetland and Orkney because of the remoteness, wildlife, geology, and archaeology, but I have never yet had a suntan!

    I spend a lot of time on golf courses, and once managed to beat Sir Nick Faldo at Wentworth in a social game, although I did receive a few extra shots compared to Nick!
